Leroy Douresseaux of Comic Book Bin gave volumes of Season 2 an A− rating. He opined the emphases on sexual innuendo, comparing information technology to Strawberry 100%,[116] [117] and that the series is like The Addams Family unit mixed with 10-Men: "cool, creepy folks at a secret school where they tin live and acquire in a place free of the prejudice against them." In book 11, he changed his overall view and deemed it solidly a battle manga.[118]

YALSA included Rosario + Vampire, Vol.one in its listing of the 2013 Popular Paperbacks for Young Adults under the subcategory Boarding Schools to Summer Camps: Leaving dwelling to find yourself.[119]
